I’m a Creative Director for end-to-end development of AR, web3 games, toy invention (e.g. with Hasbro and Spin Master), IoT products (e.g. for Samsung, T-Mobile, and Clorox), and IP management (e.g. Ghostbusters Afterlife). Experienced working across disciplines and managing production.

I’ve been using AI :: ChatGPT / MidJourney — for my work and here are my 5 up-to-date findings:

1. AI is about conforming not creating:

You don’t have full control of the result, you just evaluate > iterate > accept, in the same way, a client trust the services they hire.

2. A wrong brief brings wrong results:

Understanding what you want/need is the first step to getting a result that pleases you. This sounds obvious but truth is that we are really bad at: first, identifying what we want and second, asking what we really need (hidden need — Design Thinking).

3. AI is lazy:

It’s funny how Human AI is. First results are always bad, you can tell how lazy the response was. You should know your shit because greater results come from great auditing and inquiring.

4. AI is Motherly:

AI always starts by telling you your idea is “great”. Don’t be fooled AI opinion is like your mother telling you you are beautiful… most likely you are not.

5. AI can’t be trusted:

I caught the AI giving me the wrong information more than once. Double-check everything, ask for the source, and challenge the AI.

What else would you add?
